    Default Refinish A Revolver ?

Is there anything that I can have done to my old S&W Chiefs Special than getting it reblued? It is just starting to get pitted and the blue is worn off from holster wear at the barrel. Is there a tougher finish?

You can have it Cerakoted. The coating wears very well, and when done correctly will fill in minor pitting and make other pitting less obvious. There are several of us around PA that do Cerakoting.

Since it's a S&W you could also send it back to factory to have it redone. I never realized they did that until I started digging on their site. I have a very old M & P that's been in my family for years and the finish is about all worn off so I was considering sending back to the factory. Surprisingly it's not that expensive.
