Default free float on A2 receiver..?

I have a bushmaster carbine length Ar 15. This is my project gun and ive already added matching front and rear ergo grips and an ace socom short stock. Next on my list is a free float rail for my foregrip and possibly a laser or light. I have my sights set on the DD omega 7.0 rail mainly for ease of installation. My question is, will the omega rail fit properly on my A2 receiver? I have seen a few ff rails that arent compatible with my receiver... (and i have no intention or interest in swapping receivers for a flat top.)
thank you all for any reply. all info is appreciated .

    Hey

I am gonna be doing that in a few weeks for my first AR from scratch build. You can check out the Gunsmith Video's on Brownell's ( about 700! ) and the ones on Midway USA. They both have How-To video's on just about anything you could ever want to do. You can also check out U-Tube, as there are a few talented guys who like to make video's, then a bunch of guys who like to talk..:-).

Good luck....I would start with Brownell's first.

Not trying to rain on your parade...but why do you want a quad rail with an A2 upper receiver? Are you planning on shaving down your front sight base and using a sight attached to the top rail? Otherwise, you might be better off with a more standard free float rail that has attachment points on the sides/bottom for accessories.
