Yeah, they are talking about Stack-on safes. You might as well secure your gun in a tin can. Open it with a soda straw or paper clip, shit, I can open one with a #2 lead pencil and my teeth. They are , in a word, "JUNK". Get a real safe and show me how a kid can open it. Then I'll be impressed. This article was written by a sheeple and is aimed at sheeple.

You get what you pay for. A cheap lock box will have a cheap lock mechanism. A high end safe will have a high end mechanism.
It is scary though to see just how easy it is to get into these.

Here's a video done by a friend of mine who's a regular at almost all the hacking conferences around the world. Sets up the "LockPick Village" with a group of people at many of them and teaches people how to pick locks. Watch this one and many of his other videos and you'll see how insecure locks really are.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Locks keep out honest people.
I use a stack-on cabinet for my rifles. I recognize that it is just a cabinet and not a true safe. It will not stop a determined thief, but it will (I think) keep curious house guests (the kids friends) from getting into my rifles.
Additionally, I keep my ammo in separate locked ammo cans and the bolts to my rifles are also stored separately.

I feel if you have invested a lot of money on your firearms why would you not want the better safes ! EX-Stack-on owner,But if this is what you can afford it is better than nothing but recommend bolting to floor and wall !

The key to my apartment stopped working. Maintenance drilled the lock out in literally 30 seconds. It was a bit surprising.
