Default What is the most over rated firearm?

I think that there are some firearms that are a bit over rated. My choices would include the SKS, 1911's, AR's and some pump shotguns. Of all of these, I would have to go with the fancy "tricked-out" 1911's that are soooooo expensive.

I was very surprised that that a majority of opinions at another site where I hang out were different. I don't want to prejdice your replies with the results, so I'll mention it later.

What do you think is the most over rated gun?

I just have to say GLOCK.
To me a Glock is just a tool. I know you are but what am I? Just saying it before EM does.

My SIG's and my 1911's on the otherhand are works of craftmanship and beauty.

Colt...... Why?? Springfield makes a better 1911 & Panther Arms makes a better AR. But people still love Colt.

Smith & Wesson. Glock & Springfield make better auto pistols & Ruger makes what I feel is a better revolver at a lower price. But people still love Smith & Wesson. The only Smiths I like are the scandium light weight revolvers. They seem to have no competition.

    Flame away.

I gotta flame on springfield making a better 1911 than colt, and panther arms making a better AR... I just can't agree with that at all, springfield 1911's make me want to throw up, and while panther arms makes good stuff and colt is way overpriced they are making the best out of the box AR at the moment thats for sure.

I can agree with smith and wesson to a point, although I like the M&P's more than the XD, their revolvers are way over priced.

1911s and Glocks = they tie in my opinion for being overrated handguns

    AR-15's and AK's for rifles.

Mind you, they are all fine firearms - but overrated
