A guy has a very bad experience with a smith and shares it with everyone...and even says he'd like to know if he's wrong. So what does the community do? They make fun of him for his spelling and grammar. That's a shame.

To the OP, good luck with getting the issue resolved. Sounds like you got royally screwed. I hope people can get past the spelling errors in your post and take advantage of your warning.

Wasn't referring to you in my comment. It was more general in nature. I don't even see an issue with the comments people made if they then follow it up with something else.. Maybe I'm just grumpy today.

You're not grumpy, there are some people that are quick to judge on here. It annoyed me too that the first thing was making fun of him. We're not all poetic, literary geniuses and clearly the guy is upset and asked a legitimate question.


Then again, maybe I have an easier time understanding OP because I have an aunt that writes me similar e-mails on a regular basis...

This story regarding incompetant gunsmiths is far too common. I believe that there is more hacks out there than skillful smiths. If car mechanics, in general, were as commonly bad as gunsmiths, one would not be able to drive down the street for the abundance of broken down cars cluttering the streets. I am fortunate to know and utilize two skillful smiths, and I fear the day they retire from the trade.
