Default Any recommendations for a Ruger SR9c?

I'm planning to purchase a new CC pistol. A Ruger SR9c caught my eye and from the research I've done online, it seems like a good gun.

I know people here are reputable and know their stuff. So can you guys weigh in on whether or not I should buy it? So far it's in my price range ($500). If you can suggest anything else it will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

It's a good gun. At that price, also consider the M&P9c, Glock 19 or 26, Springfield XD9 compact, and the Beretta PX4 compact.

It seems to be pretty similar to a Glock 26, which I think is a good thing.
    ...and they have a plan...

I love the way the Glock 26 shoots but I can't get over the way it looks.

theres 4 shops within 10 minutes of my front door that have them for just under 400. shop around you can definitely do better on the price. they are a really nice gun for the price, and their really soft shooters in my experience. the xd 9 sub compact is another great carry piece in close to the same price range and way more accurate than any gun with 3" barrel has a right to be, mines the gun gun i shoot the best with out of any i have ever tried. any kahr is good but capacity is low (awesome bug). glocks 26/19 are great guns, im sure theres a bunch more that will get thrown out there. fondle many till you find the one thats right. if your already set on the ruger and just looking for confirmation on quality, get it you wont be disappointed.

I see you're from E-town. I'm going to be in the neighborhood this Wednesday do you know what Trop's selling the SR9 for?

I like the way it looks, but how reliable is it? Have you shot it?
I do also like that it's a SA/DA. but it seems like it's a bit out of my price range. I see it on GB at about $550+

As stated, you won't be disappointed. Mine has tons of rounds (1,000ish) downrange and I still can't really find a complaint.

The SR9c is dimensionally similar to a Glock 19, noticeably heavier, and much more reliable compared to my experience with gen 4 Glock.

Then consider that it's priced very low, and you've got a winner.

Never fired an SR9c so my opinion probably won't matter a whole lot. I always loved and admired the way the SR9c feels in the hand. Something about its ergonomics just clicks with me. I've heard they are wonderful shooters and extremely reliable. I will also say you do have a lot of awesome guns in your price range. Like the glock, M&P, XD and etc. All with a rather proven track record. I say go to the gunshop, fondle as many as you can. Or better yet, if you have a shop nearby with a indoor range, try renting a couple different guns.
