No one buying guns tonight at cabela's
My brother an i went to cabela's friday night because he needed some accessories. For the first time I can remember, the gun counter was not overly crowded. 4PM on a friday and there were about a half dozen people in the gun dept. My brother figured it had something to do with the movie theater shooting in Colorado. I don't know if I buy that. Thoughts?

Probably just the time 4 Pm. The local people dont go on Fri, Sat or Sun. and 4PM on Fri is a bit off for out of Staters as they get there earlier.

Maybe everyone has finally figured out how unrealistically inflated their firearm prices are...

It was definitely the time. I stop there after work around 4:30-4:45 if I ever want to look at a particular firearm, no crowd, no waiting. It picks up later in the evening.

Re: No one buying guns tonight at cabela's
I was recently in Cabela's talking to one of the guys who has worked there for many years. He said that the Hamburg Cabela's was the largest gun store by volume in the entire USA and perhaps #3 in the entire world!
So it may have been slow last night, but they are selling guns. Makes one proud to be a Pennsylvanian.

Re: No one buying guns tonight at cabela's
That was my guess. My last trip to Cabela's wasn't a pleasant one. I was looking for both .22 tracers and .223 tracers. I know they carry them, the store was recommended to me by manufactures of both rounds. The guy in the ammo aisle was too busy BSing and when he got to me he merely pointed towards the .22 shelf and said if they have it it's there...someplace. And then he walked away. I had already scoured the shelves and was hoping the rounds where locked up elsewhere due to their value. I put down the Serpa Blackhawk for my wife's new G19 (bought elsewhere) and left the store. I noticed that damn near everything was higher than I have seen in other stores. Sadly it appears Cabela's is now just another tourist stop.
