Default Decisions, decisions, BHP hi-power vSmith 686

    Hi all,

I need one more handgun to complete my handgun collection , either a Smith 686 or a BHP hi-power, which one should i get , ? I have many semi-auto pistols but not many revolvers, what would make more sense the smith or the bhp hi power?

    Thanks, Nyman

I just bought a 6" S&W 686 a few months ago and I love it. I doubt you could find a more accurate revolver. At ten yards you can hit the same bullet hole easily and at 25 yards 2" groupings are easy. Its nice to look at too.

I'd get the 686...but I've never been a big Hi-Power fan. If all else fails, get 'em both!

I have both and based on my personal experience I would have to say... both!

Honestly, they are both great firearms and I love mine. I have an old style 4", 6 round 686 and it is just a great gun to fire. I also have 2 MkIII Hi-Powers and regardless of what other autoloaders I may pick up I will never get rid of them. If both is not an option, then you have to decide which is more appropriate for you. I know, lots of help there, but it is what it is.

Can't go wrong with a good 686. but why not get both?

I love my 4" 686. Always wanted a Hi Power, not really any other reason than just to have one.

If you can't get both, go for the S&W.

Go for the Browning, nothing snuggles in your hand like a BHP.
