Gun stores are socially undesirable - should be prohibited - says city official

Kevin Schreiber, Director of Economic and Community Development for the City of York, serves as Secretary of the York Redevelopment Authority (RDA). At a recent city council meeting, he revealed that properties acquired by the RDA will be sold with deed restrictions that prevent land from being utilized for 'socially undesirable' uses. One of the 'socially undesirable' uses he specifically mentioned is gun stores.

Worst yet, the RDA is using reverter clauses that run with the land, allowing these deed restrictions to remain in place in perpetuity, no matter how many times a property may switch hands. Here's a piece I wrote on the subject: http://yorklp.org/rda-unseen-impacts

Hm, that's interesting. Apparently responsible, law-abiding, hard-working people who enjoy using their rights are undesirable according to Mr. Schreiber. Remind me to not move into any municipality he works for... ever.
