Had a OC discussion with a coworker...
and after about 5 minutes of discussion, he informed me that he was a LEO in Easton PA. We continued our discussion on OC with him saying that's it's illegal to OC without a LTCF in Easton or anywhere else and would detain/arrest/fine anyone that he stopped that was OCing without a LTCF.
At that point, I informed him that under the PA constitution, it's legal to OC while on foot without a LTCF. I then proceeded to say that if I was in Easton OCing and a LEO stopped me to check my ID, I would politely deny him my ID as I was not braking any laws.
I asked why he would even consider stopping me if he saw me, "I consider it a preventive measure just to check to see if you're were legal to carry that firearm." He also stated that it is illegal to OC at anytime in Easton.
At that point I had to bite my tongue as I didn't really want to get into a argument with a coworker over something that he should know well since he was a LEO.
I would really like to do a statewide poll to find out how many LEOs actually thing OCing is illegal.
Can anyone in the Easton area confirm this??

Might be time for an OC dinner in Easton... God knows they need more good guys with guns in that "city".

I suggest you print out one of Pa. Patriot's OC flyers and give it to him the next time you see him.

Then... OC in Easton, get arrested and then sue for false arrest.Μολὼν λάβε

Re: Had a OC discussion with a coworker...
A year ago, when I started being more pro-active about OC education, I was under the assumption that MOST LEO were mis-informed about OC.
Today I think the opposite. I think there are areas, like Phila, where ignorance is the norm. But since actively seeking LEO input on the subject I have been pleasantly surprised how many are fully aware.
In regards to your convo, may I suggest one of these for your co-worker?:

I can't link due to my limited computer skills, but Easton's ordinances are on their web site. If you look under Title 9, Article 941, relating to parks, they prohibit the carry of any firearms, except those authorized by the city.
