Default SIG 220/European Magazine Release Value...

I tried searching this site, several firearm "blue book" sites, and google and came up short. A friend of mine has a Sig 220 with a European magazine release and would like to sell/swap it for a 220 with an American magazine release. The problem is, he doesn't know how much it is worth and doesn't want to get short changed. I couldn't find even a guestamate for a price anywhere, either. I believe the handgun is in good to like-new condition. Any ideas about the price or places I can search?

Your friend is a Newbie Right? Only a Newbie would even considerd selling a genuine European 220.

Did you go to the Sig board? I'm a member there too.

A European 220 with mags and original box etc. is selling for $1400-$1600.

Wow. Only a newbie would pay that much for a P220-EU. Even the 38 super models can be had for less than that. Maybe the .30 Luger would fetch that much, but not a .45 or 9mm.

OP - Is it marked P220, or does it say Browning BDA? Caliber? These are important in determining the price... I sold my 9mm P220-EU (triple serialed and proofed) for something like $500 IIRC, in excellent condition... I considered that a fair deal for both parties involved in the transaction.

But I might be a total newbie also...

    Regards,

    Bones
