Becoming A Gunsmith
im currently on the road to becoming a gunsmith. im taking courses in gunsmithing. i have a few questions i know the age to obtain a ffl is 21 but is there any way to get one if all you plan on doing is gunsmithing and possibly getting a job gunsmithing not a dealer or anything like that? im 20 by the way.

Re: Becoming A Gunsmith
By the time you have completed your courses and are actually qualified to call yourself a gunsmith, you will be old enough to get your FFL. That is unless you are doing one of those correspondence courses advertised on the back of matchbooks or something.

Re: Becoming A Gunsmith
You can work as a gunsmith under someone elses license (a gunshop that offers gunsmithing, a big box gun store that offers gunsmithing, etc.) You just can't get a FFL in your name until you're 21. I would be looking, now, for someplace that may take you on as an apprentice or an intern. This will help you gain hands on experience. You can pick up a lot of valuable techniques if you can hook up with an experienced gunsmith that will take you under his wing.
