    if you make it towards Allentown, i have an 11 degree crowning tool. i would re-crown it for you. i just did my 91/30 and 2 fal's.

    i had mine done at a local gun smith ( it was counterbored) had it shortned just past the bayo lug (m44) before i could not keep it close at 100 now i can hit 200 it does have a scope the gun smith charged $53 the kick is not much worse but the muzzle flash is bigger

    If i'd known you had one earlier, I would have brought mine to you. Local gunsmith charged me around $45 to lop off 6", recrown, and thread the end.

    Do it yourself. Use a pair of hose clamps to help you get a fairly straight cut with a standard mark I hacksaw, file it straight. Rent the tool-

    rent a zero degree crown and 11 degree crown tool. use the zero to get the crown perfectly straight, just remember at first to check how straight it was, if it's only touching one edge use a file to correct it, and make sure the barrel is vertical. These are mason reamers, good tools. Use the cutting oil. Once it's cocentric (flat) with the tool change cutters and make your 11 degree target crown. A brass screw with some lapping paste is a good finisher but I found I didn't really need it, you can check for burrs with a q-tip. This is a great place to rent just for a re-crown without a cut too. You can also thread for a brake but I've heard the metal isn't great and it galls if you have to mess with your brake often EG taking it off and on etc. It does help the jump my buddy did his that way.
