Allegheny Arsenal in Verona near Pittsburgh
First of all this is a different Allegheny Arsenal than the one that advertises in Shotgun News and deals in lots of ClassIII stuff. This one is in Verona, a suburb of Pittsburgh. How they do any business, I don't know, They have zero web presence and don't advertise as far as I can tell. From what I understand they have a nice selection of CR items and some mainstream commercial firearms. They've been there for quite a while so they must be doing something right. They depend on word of mouth for traffic and by all accounts they're very helpful and frofessional. I'd like to hear from anyone who has dealt with them or made a purchase. It's a good hour from my house so I'm not going there unless they have a good or different selection.

I think that shop has some kind of business connection with either Braverman's or Ace Sporting Goods (can't recall which).
But yes they seem to specialize is semi-collectible, used firearms. Every time I'm in there I've seen some very fine, vintage firearms.

what kind of item did they have and what were their prices like? It's as though they're trying to keep the place secret. If they're doing anything to promote the business, I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

franknphilly,
First thing... the name of the place is Allegheny River Arsenal.
Second, it seems you have described the place to a "T" in your OP.
Sounds like you're determined to go there, lack of advertising be damned.
It's a small shop. I've only been in a few times to browse and buy ammo, so I can't comment on price. "Selection"(handgun)was fair, although they may keep other stuff in the back.(That's what Powell's does) Lots of rifles out to see.
Not much more I can tell you. Use the "search" at the top of the page... I know that others have mentioned the place before.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Allegheny Arsenal in Verona near Pittsburgh
I bought a firearm there a few years ago. Thought it was a good deal then still do now.
I like to stop in and look at their old stuff from time to time. It is also a place I like to stop buy when I find something somewhere else and want to compare prices.
Usually my travels and their hours don't mesh well so I don't get to stop in too often.Koli's back from Ambler.

Yes it is a small shop I was there about five years ago. They do advertise in the local paper with Ace Sporting Goods. In those ads they are promoting
their used guns.
