Helpful Youtube/Online Resources?
Hello all!
I grew up in the city, with people who had no interest in guns. I always have, and now that I live further in the country and have the space and resources, I've made the leap and am in the process of purchasing a ruger 10/22 TALO (limited edition, designed to look way more like an AR). I -have- fired a 9mm handgun, and a .22lr rifle prior. With my fiance's encouragement, I'm taking the dive. (He's pure country kid, and has been shooting since he was like 8 years old.)
He is, however, an absolutely terrible teacher.
I'm working a new job and went a week without pay, so I probably won't be going shooting for another week or two. This will be my first time at an actual range, vs. shooting targets and groundhogs in a (large, secluded) backyard. What I want to know: Everything. But let's start with rifle usage, tips and hints, basically anything that I wouldn't know picking it up for the first time.
Does anybody have any links to any sites for beginners? I've seen a couple of helpful youtube videos. Please, share with me your wisdom! Eventually when I'm kicking ass I'll give you credit, I swear.

Since you're getting a Ruger... then take a look at the Ruger channel.

They have tons of great instructional videos.

Re: Helpful Youtube/Online Resources?
Like the entire internet, youtube has it's good side and it's dark side. Some of the garbage on youtube is plain old wrong. You'll have to sift through things to find reasonable value. But even with the best video instruction nothing beats hands on face-to-face instruction. Is there a nearby range which offers classes you can attend? What about more experienced shooting buddies, I would imagine your fiance has a few. It might be to your ultimate benefit to be upfront whith him, his teaching style isn't your learning style. It's no indictment of his overall shooting skills or knowledge, just his technique of giving it. That is a common problem for spouses and beaus, something about teaching your significent other doesn't translate well. I don't know the cause but I've heard enough about it before.

I know you are looking for online videos, but if you can afford it, I would suggest taking lessons from an instructor. I could have easily saved myself months of shooting time and expenses if I went to an instructor sooner.
For starters, you can find a list of upcoming NRA rifle courses here:

Its the funniest thing I've seen in a while. That is, if by "funny" I really mean "pathetic"!

I'm a great teacher... to everyone but my wife
So last week she started working with a trainer. If this is an option for you it will help the process move along at a nice pace. I had been shooting a couple of years before working with a trainer. I wish I had done it sooner.
I like these youtube channels:

This is my always/ultimate go-to video. I learned and effectively teach new shooters based on a lot of information from this video.
