Default Gunsmith to shorten Redhawk barrel?

I live in Carbon County, anyone have a gunsmith suggestion for shortening a 7.5" Redhawk barrel down to 4.25-4.5" and affixing a front sight?

    Thanks,

    Jim

I used to work out that way, and most people there referred me to Dave's Gun Shop in Drums. It is close to Hazleton, but it is a nice shop. The workers are respectful and helpful on the retail side. Combined with the referrals I've gotten, I'd say his smithing side of the business is good as well. The shop is probably 30 minutes from the 80/115 intersection.

For what you would pay to have it done it might be easier just to sell it and get a new Redhawk with the 4.2 inch barrel. The Redhawk is a popular model so I would think it would sell pretty quickly.

    A shorten and recrown shouldn't be but $200ish .
    4" models are between $700-800.
