I don't always want tsunamis to destroy major cities, but when I do, I prefer NYC.

The sad part is people live there; intentionally.

In the City of New York one does not need a permit to shoot a .22 caliber rifle.
At Westiside we offer the opportunity for novices to experience the excitement of firing a .22 caliber rifle.
Requirement: 21 years of age or older, permanent US resident
Fee: $65.00
Above fee will provide you with:
* Instruction from an NRA certified Range Safety Officer
* Ruger 10/22 semi-automatic rifle
* 50 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition
* Targets
During your first visit you are required to take a safety course in the classroom and have an instructor on the firing line with you. Return visits past 3 months of your last visit require you to attend a refresher course.
Return visits to Westside are $35.00
Targets and ammunition additional
Westside must perform a criminal background check on all new shooters prior to scheduling your appointment. To perform this check, you must provide the name, address, birthdate and ID (driver's license, passport, etc...) of all the individuals in your party. A non-refundable deposit is required.

Re: Shoot a gun in NYC... what a joke...
Wow. $65 for the first session and targets and 50 rounds of .22 ammo are an additional fee. Really?
The sad part about this is that the residents of NYC are so starved for a taste of forbidden fruit that this place has been in business for almost 50 years and probably earns a pretty penny off of it.
Just think, if the tsunami is big enough, that'll make Pike and Monroe Counties beachfront property.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

That is a shame I can go in back yard and shoot. Who in there right mind would want to live there. If earth was a being NYC would be it's asshole.
I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six!

Re: Shoot a gun in NYC... what a joke...
The Sad part is that i remember when it was only $20 to shoot there all day that was back in 1982 or so , when i first Got My NYC "pistol Permit" back in about 1982 it cost me $35, when i moved out here in 2006 my permit cost $400.
Dont blame the people that run the Ranges in NYC, blame the NYC political bureaucracy that jacks the prices up on ranges and throw in a million surcharges on everything in order to operate a range in NYC, but to be honest most of the people who go to those ranges are either Cops or Yuppies or people who just dont know better, people like me just head out east to long island to shoot, i used to pay $5 at the Calverton Range in Suffolk to shoot all day after a while they raised it up to 10$, i used to drive out to Montauk to Fish on the Atlantic in the Morning then Shoot on the way back at Calverton, Yeah NYC is a mess , the government there have no respect for the constitution of the United states of America.
