Default CLEO is "posting my Form 1 & 4 for other officers to see it"

Is this normal when getting a CLEO sign off?

I dropped off my paperwork 2 weeks ago, and I got a voicemail today saying that they "still have my paperwork and are now posting for a week for the other officers to see and will call me back in another week."

What? Why do the other officers have to see my paperwork? Why can't I just have the papers back? o.O

This is absolutely ABNORMAL! The F1/4 are TAX documents, not free for all's so every officer can look over them. If they chief is trying to educate his officers as to what these forms look like then he can get blank or generic's online. That is just plain ridiculous!

Not to mention, its not only my information up there, but the seller of my suppressors info. And he's not happy about this, either.

I'd be furious. He didn't even ask. You should tell him that you'd like to see his tax return from last year so you can post it at your workplace.

I have a suppressor on order. My FFL told me the forms can go to the sherrif's office, not my township police. I haven't submitted anything yet. So is it county or township?

    From the ATF Form 1 & 4:

    f. Law Enforcement Certification. The chief law enforcement officer is
considered to be the Chief of Police for the maker’s city or town of residence,
the Sheriff for the maker’s county of residence; the Head of the State Police for
the maker’s State of residence; a State or local district attorney or prosecutor
having jurisdiction in the maker’s area of residence; or another person whose
certifcation is acceptable to the Director, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
    Firearms and Explosives.

So, My city/town is Lower Saucon Township.

Either. There are several people qualified to sign as a CLEO. Your local police chief is one, the sheriff is another.
