Default Directions to range on Rt 93 near Nesquehoning

    Hi All,

Can anyone give directions to the range on Rt 93 between Nesquehoning and Beaver Meadows? I think I can spot it on Google maps as a left off of 93 but not certain. Are there signs for the turn on 93?

    Thanks!

There is a sign, heading north it is pretty easy to see, heading south it sneaks up on you from behind the trees. I've centered here on Google Maps for you.

Assuming you are taking 209 to 93:

Head up the hill on 93. Shortly after you crest the hill, the range will be on the left. There is also a small parking area on the right for the game lands.

There is a small wooden sign just off the left side of the road, about 2'x2' if I remember it right.

I can usually spot the tan tracks from cars pulling out of the drive before I can see the sign.

Thumbs up Re: Directions to range on Rt 93 near Nesquehoning

My daughter and I visited this range on Monday. Her second time shooting and she was consistently hitting head shots on 24 X 36 silhouettes at 100 yards using iron sights. May have a future with the CIA. The range is nice and I like the variety of distances. I was a little dissapointed in the maintence, very tall grass on the lanes and way too much brass and plastic shells everyplace. So this is where our range permit fees go? Yikes! Sharpened up my close range pistol skills too. All in all a nice place to shoot, but then we had it all to ourselves.

Three or so weeks ago, the target backers on the pistol side were brand new. Last week, they had been shot to junk from people putting their targets on the wood. I bring a bucket with me on every trip to clean up more than my mess.

Glad to hear you had the place all to yourself. I have not been out there since 2008 and have no intention of going back. I do at least hope the permit requirement drove away the undrsirables that made that place a constant safety violation.

    It hasnt.
You get gangbanger thug rejects out there still.
Had a group of them ripping off shots with 10/22s and tek9 looking pistols with no eye or ear protection.
Told them they might want to ear up, since I was going to start shooting.
I got eye rolls all around.
So I opened up with my snubby .44 magnum.
    Cleared them out pretty quick.

Thats why I joined a private range. I always had problems from the assholes that used that range that it just wasn't worth going there anymore. What was worse was when they would do something unsafe and I tried to correct them they would tell me to mind my own business. Well assholes it is my business if I am there and you are acting stupidly unsafe.

Same here. Events on that range led me to take a shooting hiatus all together until I learned of the other options around.
