Cornelius "Connie" McHugh from Lehighton died just a few weeks shy of his 102nd birthday.

I'm glad I had a ww2 vet for a friend. Lot's of stories, and he gave me some jap cigarettes he took from a dead jap at wake island.
My grandfather was on his way to japan when they dropped the bomb. They turned the ship around. He never saw combat.
