    Default Vandalism at Shooting Range

It is a shame that people would go out of their way to do this stuff. It is a good thing that there is a permit needed to use the range.

A shooting range in Luzerne County needs cleaning after game officials said vandals sprayed graffiti late Monday night.

The Pennsylvania Game Commision were at the shooting range in Bear Creek Township Tuesday assessing the damage.

The range, which is located on Suscon Road, had spray painted graffiti of nazi symbols, racial slurs, and graphic images on benches and concrete shooting pads.

The Game Commission said this is not the first time they have dealt with vandalism but it is getting hard to afford to clean up the aftermath.

“If it comes to the point where these ranges are costing us more to maintain, not being cost-effective, there’s a real possibility that a range like this could be shut down. Where would you go from there?” said Officer Gerald Kapral.

There is no surveillance at the range. Officials said there are no leads as to who is responsible.

A couple of well placed and well hidden security cameras would solve the problem. If the only solution they can think of is to close the range then maybe they should be replaced by the cameras. Seems they can always think of ways and excuses to increase fees.
