Default Indoor pistol range near Pittsburgh

I normally shoot at the Wexford game lands, but it's a lil' cold now. I'm also looking to move around a little instead of standing and shooting. Bad practice! Any ideas?

I'll be at Wexford later today for a little trigger-time. Do you shoot, or are you interested in getting into, IDPA shooting? There's an indoor range by Youngstown that shoots IDPA first Sunday of the month. We usually meet at the Coraopolis park-n-ride. Lemme know if you want to go sometime.

There are a bunch of IDPA clubs nearby and there is a club that shoots informal steel plate matches...just below Steubenville. They'll be starting back up in the spring and have a BIG plate match in the works for the end of May.

shoot me a PM or an email if you want info......

Man, I'd love to! I work at 4 on sunday though. I would never make it back in time. How much does it cost? I don't know a whole lot about IDPA. Tell me what you can.

Well that's another one then...the one we go to is called The American Range...on Mahoning Ave. a few miles west of the causeway.

Most IDPA matches charge 10 for the first gun and 5 for any reshoots or other guns. The American Range charges 15 for the first and 5 for reshoots.

g22...I'll send you a pm when I've got a bit more time & give you more info.

I've been to the American Range. Not as nice as TSG, but not bad. Do you guys shoot IDPA/USPSA outdoors around Pittsburgh? There are some great clubs and a lot better than the indoor stages.

Somebody, I think at The American Range told me that TSG was closed. I haven't checked it out for
myself. I think they are not on the IDPA club list.

Woody and I ran the matches at Greater Pitt....now that it's closed we've been getting around a bit more. We shot at Castlewood for their last match of the season...meager turnout but we had a great time & wished we had started going there sooner. Jeff was quitting running the matches and, in fact, offered us the job.....just too far for us. I hope someone steps up to take over...we'd definitely go back there. Our main club will now be S.T.A.R.T. which is just south of Mingo Jct OH. We've been shooting IDPA and steel plate matches there and will probably be helping run the matches next season.

If you're looking for USPSA the guys who ran them at Greater Pitt will be running them at McDonald next season.....I'm sure they'll put on good matches there as well.

Nice indoor range: A&S Indoor Pistol Range in Youngwood. It's about an hour drive from Wexford. They have an action shoot on the first and third Mondays of the month. Moving and shooting on the target side of the firing line, very much like IDPA. Runs from 5 to 9 PM.

That's kind of a haul for me. I might check it out if I can't find anything closer though! Thanks!
