    Default ammo question

ok so i bought some zombie max ammo the other day as i was looking on hornadys web site it says for zombies only... any particular reason i shouldn't carry this ammo other then their disclaimer says zombies only? I was under the impression that it was basicly the same as the critical defense ammo

    from the web site.
Disclaimer: Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is NOT a toy (IT IS LIVE AMMUNITION), but is intended only to be used on…ZOMBIES, also known as the living dead, undead, etc. No human being, plant, animal, vegetable or mineral should ever be shot with Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition. Again, we repeat, Hornady® Zombie Max™ ammunition is for use on ZOMBIES ONLY, and that's not a nickname, phrase or cute way of referring to anybody, place or thing. When we say Zombies, we mean…ZOMBIES!

That's funny. But they sound like they are serious about using it only on Zombies. Maybe they know something I don't.

    EDIT:
    http://www.hornady.com/store/40-S-an...tical-Defense/
    http://www.hornady.com/store/40-S-and-W-165-gr-ZMAX/

The ballistics are virtually the same NOTEn the critical defense look at the xd 3" chart as the zombie rounds were only tested in the 3" configuration.

AFAIK it is all a gimmick and the ammo is a clone of CD with a green tip and brass cased. One of my concerns would be a defense attorney trying to paint you as a fanatic or a nutjob because you carried "zombie killers".

I don't know but the Zombie Max .223 out of my AR-15 was great for blowing up watermelons. Watermelons are not zombies...

Depends on your definition of zombies. According to hollywood(ugh), zombies are the mindless reanimated dead that try to eat people. Possibly according to you, zombies are the mindless leaches of society that try to rob people. The only difference is one can vote.

Im sure they printed that to cover there butts from law suits incase some knuckle head shoots someone and blames it on hornady. It is basically the critical defense ammo with a green tip instead of a red.

    I wouldnt use it.

Critical Defense is not a great SD ammo anyhow.
Get some Ranger-T, HST, Critical Duty, or even Golden Saber.

Plus the legal aspect of it could cause an unnecessary issue.

i can only imagine a over zealous prosecuter stating " this man your honor is so irresponsible he does not even bother to follow the manufacturers instruction due to his lack of knowledge of how these things work, furthermore the defendant was obviously hunting zombies and either accidentally or more probable, purposely shot the deceased because he was bored due to no zombies being out that particular night." not saying it cant be defended but i myself would not chance it, prosecutors are there to make you look like a p.o.s. and make your life suck!
