Default $80 Carbon Fiber AR Receiver?

    Hi,

I found a website listing for an $80 Carbon Fiber receiver. I have zero experience with non-metal receivers. Can anyone tell me if carbon fiber makes a good receiver? I know it is suposed to be stronger and lighter than ordinary steel . . .

Stronger and lighter, yes. More heat-resistant, NO.

And at $80 I wouldn't even consider it. Good carbon-fiber stuff is generally expensive, not cheaper than metal alternatives.

Are you sure it's not a high density plastic receiver? Like this gun - It's called a carbon 15, but it's plastic not carbon fiber

as IV_Warrior said real carbon fiber is absurdly expensive. I didn't know they actually make receivers out of carbon fiber.

    Can we post the listing?

I'd rather have aluminum for $20 more, though......

I taught Chuck Norris to bump-fire.
