    Default Marlin Glenfield 25

I just bought a Marlin Glenfield 25 22cal with a matching scope at the VFW gun show for my grandkids. I need some info.
It did not come with a manual so I checked out the marlin web site and it did not have any info for me.

Can anyone give me any more info on what I got?

What kind of info do you want?

I have one I got for $25....the trigger is over 8# on it, and I can still shoot dime sized groups with it at 25 yards with good ammo. They seem to be a well made gun. All of the Marlin parts are inter-changable.

Any surprises? Anything to watch out for?

Trying to find info at the Marlin web site did not even list a 'Glenfield' model.

Glenfield made them for a while, they licensed the design from Marlin I guess...the guns are identical.

I got my very used, and I get some light primer strikes from time to time. With good ammo, I get them less.

The little metal clip that holds the magazine in is very flexible, and it's easy to bend it back and forth, so just be gentle loading mags. Mine is a little worn out, and I need to push up on the magazine to ensure good feeding when I cycle the bolt. I could order a new FP spring, and that clip...but I'd be spending more than I spent on the gun....maybe someday. For what I can get a new Savage for (dealer discount)...it's just not really worth it to me.

Bottom line is, it's just a great little bolt action .22 to play with. I put a nice scope on it, and it shoots along side some of the pricey .22's. If it had a match trigger on it...it'd fit all 5 rounds inside of .1" center to center at 25 yards.

mine shoots better than the ammo I use in it....at about 25yds it usually has 2 holes one about an inch and a half above the other.....difference in ammos speeds.......I have had mine since I was about 15 still shoots great for a cheap little gun....

Glock Pistols.......So simple a Caveman could fix them!

I have had mine since I was 16, great gun. I still have the manual, if there is something specific you need to know, tell me and I'll look it up.
    I vote the second first

I have it. PM me with your email address and I'll send the scans to you. It dates from about 1970.

Update: I'm getting requests from other folks as well. It's PDF format & attached to this post. If you need a different format (*.jpg,*.bmp) or a higher resolution copy, PM me.

+1 manual thanks. I joined because you posted it.

Just grabbed one of these guns. Paid a bit more than it was worth, but it's in mint condition and shoots tight groups- tighter than I can with iron sights.

Kid and I are having a ball.
