Looking for a reputable Gunsmith near Williamsport
Im looking to get my Galil's barrel cut down/crown and re-thread to 1/2-28 so i can put an AAC 51t Blackout QD-mount on it so i can use my suppressor on it as well as my AR. Id preferably like them to cut it down shorter and then Pin and Weld the flash hider out to 16.5" to make the ATF happy, but id be fine with just 16.5".
I asked the local shop (Whitetail Gunshop) that Nationals referred me to, but they say their lathe cant handle barrels under 20"... or they're not too fond of black rifles.
An acquaintance of mine recommended "Blak Forge Armoury" up in Morris, Pa near Wellsboro, and they look like they mostly assemble 1911's and AR-15s.
Has anyone had any work outside of 1911's and AR15's and could attest to the quality of their work. Ive never heard of them before.
If not could anybody refer me to a gunsmith near the Clinton/Lycoming County area that does a great job at barrel cutting and re-threading?Russian 1954r SKS, Enfield No.4 mk1, CIA Galil, XDm-9
