    Default Gunsmith in Lawrence County

Is there such a thing as a good gunsmith in the Lawrence County area? Can anyone recommend one? Thanks.

Depends on what type of gun you want and how soon.

I'm talking about for repairs. There are some that call themselves gunsmiths who would fuddle around with something using instructions from the Internet (something I can do myself) and there are actual gunsmiths.

    I am seeking the latter.

    Um...great.

They tend to specialize in pistols, revolvers, shotguns...stock work.

When you give me some useful information maybe I can give you some.

From your attitude I can see that your information would mean zero to me.

    Thank you, no.

I routinely go out of my way to answer questions I don't have to. On top of that, I do a bunch of charity repairs myself for members here.

There are several good 'smiths in the nearby areas, but most specialize in a certain type of work. Many can take months to get through their backlog. Some can do basic trigger work on a 1911, but only one is good at getting 2lbs. Many won't rebarrel and the best guy at that has a large backlog. There is a really good stock refinishing guy in the south...

There is the factor of quality or the factor of needing the work done ASAP. If I came across as snarky, that was not my intent, but there was not enough information to even begin to give you an answer without listing all the smiths I know in the local region and that would be a huge waste of my time and could probably be achieve with a few minutes on Google.

It's like going on a general car forum and saying "I have a problem with my car....can anyone help me?"

Quite the opposite.Lycanthrope is very knowledgable, and if you tell him the type of repair that you need he can most probably help you.Steer you to the smith that specializes in that type of work in other words. (AND MOST PROBABLY STILL WILL)
