It doesn't matter what the sheriffs depart considers as part of the background check, or whether anybody agrees or disagrees. CARD CHECK IS AN ILLEGAL ADDITION TO THE STATES UNIFORM APPLICATION. It's really that simple.

I have no opinion on whether it's a worthy requirement or not. All I know is, it's a REALLY bad sign when sworn public servants break laws that infringe on citizens rights. If any sheriff THINKS card check should be required, he/she can lobby Harrisburg to change the law, just like every other resident of the state.
