Thumbs up RaascoGrips - thoroughly impressed

I have a Taurus PT1911 which is my EDC sidearm, Tired of the plastic black grip panels, I ordered a pair of blue/black grips panels from RaascoGrips. They arrived today.

They look GREAT - but the right panel is does not have a cut for the safety, and therefore does not fit.

This thread is more or less to track how the company responds in a customer service manner. I have sent an email to them explaining that the cut isn't there, and therefore I can only mount one of the grip panels.

EDITED TO ADD: I sent an email this evening to the company, and within less than two hours I received a response. A new pair of grips is being cut and shipped to me immediately, at no charge, along with a stamped envelope for me to send the faulty ones back. This is very impressive and I strongly recommend this company based on both product quality and customer service. While the initial product wasn't exactly what I wanted, the workmanship is exceptional and I am very much looking forward to the replacement product.

Mark, I've had the same issue with several sets of grips. I got out the razor knife and set to whittling a cutout for the right side safety. It would be nice if they did it for you, but, it is very relaxing to slowly modify your own grips. Try it.

Did you order a set for a 1911 w ambi safeties and get a set for single safety or just order 1911 grips, come to find they dont fit? Most are for single safeties or if they are for an ambi safety gun, they will say so or it will be an option when ordering.

Either way though, it sounds like good CS to me.

ETA- just looked at their site and I'm assuming you got the Taurus specific grips, yup, shoulda had the ambi cut.

No, I wasn't clear. I didn't order from the company you did. I meant I have ordered from several companies and run into the ambi-safety problem. Wood grips i found it was simply easier to modify them myself than to wait for replacements. i have little patience, so I tend to find my own solutions.

Great to hear you got great CS so quickly!
