Looking for some advice on Sig purchase
Well I got an itch to own a sig elite. But so many flavors to choose from. I have been eying up the p229, p226 & p220 dark models because I already have
a pistol in 9mm & 45acp. I know the 45 costs more to shoot so that has me leaning a little towards the 226 & 229. I don't really do any competition shooting
it would be for cc & target shooting. So please chime in with your thoughts on which you think would be best & why. I currently have a Kimber 1911 45acp &
S&W M&P 9mm. Thanks I will update with whatever I decide to buy & why I did.
Thanks

220 would be my choice, since you already have a 45 to feed. It is also thinner than the double-stacked 229 & 226.

Re: Looking for some advice on Sig purchase
I have stock SIG 220, 226 and 229. Out of those three, I carry the 226 the most. It fits my hand great and with an 18 rnd Mec gar flush fit mag, no need to carry a reload.
Then again, a close second is my SIG 1911 XO...

Re: Looking for some advice on Sig purchase
Got a P220 ME that does everything it is supposed to do with Stan Chen ammo. It's all they say it is, for sure. What it isn't is easy to conceal, at least for me, but a 1911 isn't easy for me to conceal, either. The P229 is a much better choice for what you want to do with it. The P229, in my experience, is more accurate than a Beretta 92.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: Looking for some advice on Sig purchase
229 is an awesome gun, im wearing mine as we speak but bear in mind that it is a heavy gun, you will need a good holster and a good belt to carry it, i also have a 22o carry but i carry it in the winter time when it is more eaSIER TO CONCEAL THAT LONGISH GRIP, the 226 never really appealed to me so i dont have any experience with them , when i feel like carrying a high cap big 9mm gun i carry my Beretta Centurian 92.
My absolute favorite Sig though is My SP2009 in 9mm, sweet, light and accurate, shoots like a laser beam.
But bottom line get any SIG, they are truly great Pistols.

Re: Looking for some advice on Sig purchase
I have a 229 in 9mm and a 220 Carry in 45. I used to carry a 239, but sold it not too long ago.
I love the size and feel of the 229. It is the basic model, but with night sights. The 220 carry is about 1/4 inch longer, the grip is lightly larger and maybe 1/4 in longer. The 220 is an elite, and honestly, I don't think it has many advantages over the basic model. The front slide serations make it slightly more difficult to slide in and out of a leather holster, and the beaver tail makes CC harder. I think a 220 carry standard with the night sights would be just about the perfect gun IMO. I am also partial to SIG guns and SA/DA pistols.
If you're not looking to get another 45, I highly suggest a 229.

Actually the 250 seem to have a following , some people like them, i believe somewhere out there on the internet there is a 250 board, i read one guy review and he thinks the 250 is the best thing since slice bread- go figure.
