    Default BUG Calibers

So I'm thinking of replacing my BUG/CC Kel-Tec PF9. Since this is a bug/pocket/mouse i was looking at smaller calibers like 22Mag, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions. While I would love a 357, I don't think I'd want one with such a short barrel.

I carry a Sig P238 as a BUG when I OC, which is every day. I'm looking to upgrade it to a P938 when they become more available. I don't think there's any reason not to carry a 9mm anymore.

    This ^^,
Why go to a smaller calliber?? The PF9 is one of the best carrying, non-mouse caliber guns on the market. I wouldnt go any smaller than .380acp, not with the guns available these days, size wise, in the bigger calibers. Just doesnt make any sense to me.

Just wondering, do you want a smaller gun or a smaller caliber? I dont really know of anything smaller than the LCP besides the Seecamps and the Rohrbaughs (sp?) and even then, they are marginally smaller. I think they might be available from .32acp - 9mm. Not even the .22mag you mention. Are you going Derringer to get to such a small caliber? I know its a BUG and you'll have a Primary Carry but, if your going for that BUG, chances are, youre gonna need it... Bad

Why do you want a smaller caliber? Size/concealability, recoil, etc? What traits are you looking for?

While the S&W Bodyguard 380 id not dramatically smaller than the PF9 (like the Kel Tec in 32 ACP is), it is smaller, and is what I have as a BUG/CC piece. 380 does not perform at the same level as 9mm, but I am confident in shot placement up to 10 yards or so, and the difference in size is sufficient to make the Bodyguard eminently more concealable for me (5'10" 175 lbs and not big-boned).

I will say that a snubnose is a very good choice for a CC/BUG if you can effectively conceal it in Summer clothes.

    Cheers,

    I carry a P-11 in 9mm and a Combat Master in .45.
Not sure I would want to step down to a .22.
I MAY look at a P3AT for something to carry when I can't carry anything.

I swichted my Kel Tec P11 out with the SR9C and couldn't be happier. The Ruger has a much better trigger and with the 10 shot mag is just as small. The only thing I miss is the clip on holster that the P11 had on it.

It's not a dramatic drop in size but accuarcy and fast shooting the Ruger rocks.

IMHO keep the calibers to a minimum of .38 Special or 9MM

J frame revolver or ruger lcr. 38 special plus p

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).
