Default UPS.. bent a rifle barrel.

    Ordered an M38 from SOG.

Picked up last night at the terminal. Didn't see the taped opver gash in the box (nor did they point it out to me to check the contents).

Result: bent barrel, stock cracked, sight bent.

ITS A HARDENED STEEL GUN BARREL. If you can bend that sucker god help the other packages.

When it's run over by a truck a couple of times, something has to give. In this case, the barrel and stock.

I'm not surprised. UPS often employs thugs.
I chucked boxes for FexEd for awhile. Class act in general.

File the claim, for what's it worth, they may pay it. UPS should have automatic insurance for ~$200 per package. The UPS terminals use pnuematic rams that push packages off the conveyor belt in the sorting process, if one chute gets jammed, the ram keeps shoving until a human intervenes...... UPS beats the crap out of many many many packages. That is one reason my company has gone to FEDEX entirely.

BTW, it wasn't a gorilla, but an orangutan or one of the other smaller apes in the luggage commercial. About the time that one ran, a local station in Georgia gave a suitcase to the gorilla at the zoo. He had fun with it and was using HALF of it to drink water out of in less than 5 minutes!

anybody who remembers that is definately dating themselves!

American Tourister Gorilla - In 1970 the American Tourister company began to air a commercial starring Oofi, a caged gorilla and former circus performer who jumped, stomped, and generally banged the hell out of a piece of American Tourister luggage to demonstrate the product's durability. Inside Oofi's hairy gorilla costume was actor Don McLeod, the world's foremost pseudo-simian who has since starred in a variety of monkey roles including the lead ape on the syndicated TV series TARZAN: THE EPIC ADVENTURES/SYN/1996-97; the movies Trading Places (1983) and Naked Gun 2 and 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991); and a surprise visit to the Moscow Circus where he appeared in a cage and fooled the people into thinking he was the real thing. Directed by Mark Celetano, the original American Tourister "Gorilla" ad was produced by the Doyle, Dane and Bernbach agency in 1969. It cost $33,000 to make and ran for 15 years. The 5' 8' gorilla full-body costume with moveable eyes, lids, brow, mouth, lips and smile was made of silicone rubber, urethane, fur, foam, spandex, fiberglass.
