Buying Semi-Auto Rifles from Gun Shows
Ok, here is a noob question so bear with me, If i purchase a semi-auto rifle from a pa gun show, what kinda paypaper work is ivolved in purchasing it, or is it simply, here is my cash, here is the rifle? Is there more to it than that?

oh ok, i see, thanx for the info dan. Iv just never baught a rifle from a store of FFL before, I guess its very similar to purchasing a handgun with the paperwork?

pretty much the same, but it's only one sheet that you have to fill out.

to be clear, does this mean that when buying a rifle from a private individual, no paperwork is needed? Even say for a AR15?

Sorry to be a pest but....
How does one does one check the serial number?
Also, if it is legal to buy from a private individual without ANY paperwork what sort of legal matters can come up?

It has happened before that a person had sold a firearm to another person, then reported the firearm stolen. ...with knowledge of who "took" it. That person was then convicted of theft and firearm violations.
If I can come across the link, I will post it.
There are other similar reasons too. It would also help your case that you unknowingly purchased a stolen firearm if it were to be one. ..That your ownership was thought to be a lawful transfer on your part.
