Default Opinions on Glock 30 and Sig 220

I decided on a 45 compact over a 40 for both carry and range. I like the extra bang for the buck. I found a very good condition used Sig 220 for about 150.00 bucks less than a new Glock 30. Any opinions?

You really want to go there?

Well, since you asked. I fondled both when I was looking, the Glock felt thick and heavy. I loved it, and still do. A Sig is definitely on the short list for my next semi-auto though, something in a 9mm flavor I think.

ETA. 13 rounds in a sub-compact* CCW. mmmmmmm, yummy.

    Glocks words, not mine!

I own a G30 and it's my daily carry. Small, Light, and I hardly notice it while its on me.
Nice shooting pistol, at a 100yds I'm hitting groups the size of a quarter. J/k about that

take the Sig 220. what kind of 220 is it? just out of curiosity.

what about a new pistol? if you are worried about price i would check out the XD45 compact. you can carry more rounds with the xd and it offers a grip safety which the glock does not. also the xd is more shooter friendly as it has a better point of aim and grip angle.

i bring up the new pistol option only because i would not recommend buying a used second hand pistol unless you know the person you are buying it from and can confirm that it is coming from a happy unabusive home.

but between the two deffinately buy the sig.

I have carried my G30 for about 6 months now and I can say that I defnitly feel this is a GREAT carry piece. The darn thing appears to be just about indestructable and I am very comfortable with it. Some people have a hard time with Fobus holsters, but I really like my Fobus Paddle and there are alot of times when I forget that I even have it on!
I would definitly reccommend the Glock. (I actually have a hard time even typing those words because, TO ME, the Glock is just about the ugliest gun out there!)

    Just my .02

I too have a fobus paddle holster and love it. Though I'm sorta discouraged from using it as an OC holster. I Plan on purchasing a Comp-Tac Paddle holster for it soon. Sorry to go off topic so i'll post my opinion again.

    +1 for the Glock

I have fired both wepons. I own and my daily carry is a Glock 30! Another thing you have to look at is maintenance. Glocks are virtually maintenance free. I like the feel of the glock better! THey also conceal better in my opinion. I bought my 30 brand new in 01. I have about 7,500 rounds through it and have never ever had to replace a thing. It has never miss fired and it has never jammed. Pair it with Federal HYdra-Shok 230grain and you truly have a match made in heaven! The Sig is also a good weapon a little harder to keep clean and a bit more bulky. Either way they are great guns, but my money is on the Glock!!!!

P.S. Glocks are not ugly, they are a true thing af beauty!!

I suppose that beauty is in the eye of the beholder in this one. It is impossible to dispute the Glock is an EXTREMELY reliable and outstanding firearm. As for it's asthetic appeal.....well.....
That being said, I own 2 of them that I carry more often than just about any other gun in my collection.
Being 'pretty' is certainly not a requirement of being 'reliable' and the Glock has that down pat.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that the Sig is also a very reliable firearm. I have owned a Sig 220 and sold it because the Glock was just plain more comfortable to wear as CCW.
