I am proud to say that I was involved in some of the subject matter in the story.

    Notice the subtlety?

The following year, Scranton City Council discussed an ordinance to ban firearms from meetings after members noticed some audience members were armed. They backed off after gun advocates told them a ban would be illegal.

"Guns also may not be carried, open or concealed, in places such as court and federal facilities, state parks, detention facilities, airport terminals and schools."

I feel that the article was better than some of the others I've read except for the state park comment. Based on what I've read here and other places, one can conceal carry in a state park with a valid LTCF.

I would rather die in a shootout than get assassinated in a "gun free zone"

"Gun injuries and deaths often are committed by people who don’t register and permit their weapons, they noted."

Taken from text of the second article. Really??? Fail.

Did they change their minds after they noticed you were armed, or after you spoke your piece? The article seems to imply that it was done because you were armed, almost as though it was a threat.

That's what I was pointing out.

Actually we were there because of some other gun issues. They were trying to enact a lost or stolen law.

The media was also there. Once it was pointed out that they had no power in the subject matter they more or less just huffed and puffed.

There were close to a dozen of us there.

Nimrod Haven never impressed me. I went in one time after picking up a new Smith 629 from another store. He had a desert Eagle in the case. I asked to see it. His response was that he only showed guns to serious customers. I turned around and never went back.
