    Default Glock Magazine Help

So I have the 22 round .40 factory Glock magazine, and I simply cannot get that last round in there. I've had it filled with 21 rounds for over a month now to stretch the spring or whatever, and it hasn't helped. I also cannot for the life of me get the magazine bottom plate off. Can anyone offer any tips or assistance on this?

The bottom plate is a pain in the ass. When you do it right, you'll feel like you are going to break it. Just push in the pin and press the plate toward the front of the mag with all you got. Don't attempt to pry outward on the flanges.

I've pushed it in I don't know how many times, but I can't ever get it off then. Plus I'm not sure if it goes in right. I'm not sure if getting the plate off will solve the problem, but I figured it was worth a try at least.

Push it in with an allen wrench and then lever that bad boy off. Gotta put some ass into it.

    Yea, it can be tuff.

Check to see (when you get it off) that there are no high spots around the rim that could be binding.

I take Channel Lok pliers and set them so just the tip of the jaw presses on the sides of the magazine body. Press in on the button, the squeeze the pliers a little as you slide the plate off.

It might scuff the mag a little, but less than pitching it into the wall.

How far does one push the button? Pushing it in all the way doesn't seem to do it...

Not very far, around a quarter inch will do it. Although you wont hurt anything by pushing it further. It just has to go the thickness of the bottom plate. Are you using a pin punch, or something else? It might be easier if you use the appropriate size pin punch and wrap the handle in something so you can get a good grip.
