From the STi Spartan to SR1911 to Taurus PT1911 down to the RIA, Citdals, Sams it seems you can buy a lot of gun on the 1911s platform for $600 - $699 NIB. The options gets larger when you look around used.

That STi Spartan looks pretty impressive and its available unlike the Ruger.
