DETONICS

I'm extremely happy to report I just purchased a DETONICS SERVICEMASTER! I have been searching high and low to find one as they are a rare piece. After surfing the net for hours, I'm turning to you, the good people of PAFOA. The pistol only comes with one mag and a plastic set of grips, so I need to find:

1. Mags
2. Grips
3. Holster

Being that I'm new to the Detonics brand, any and all information on the background or accessories that I have been looking for would be greatly appreciated!!

Back in the 80s they were the rave most the reviews were very favorable they were compact and accurate. I never seen any reliability test like with the Glocks most felt they were reliable enough for the job they were built for deep cover with heavy hitting power. They were sorta rare back then but now days every company makes a deep cover 3" 1911.

Is the Detenic any better then the modern 3" 1911s, they look harder to break down and clean is that true.

The Detonics are actually easier to break down as their recoil springs are not under tension like most other compact 1911's of today. Hense no little metal (in most cases a paper clip) tools to hold tension for break down. I have been looking for reviews the past 2 days and have only found 1 bad reliability / accuracy review and after it was sent back to be repaired it ran like a fine Swiss watch!

Wouldnt any other 1911 mags and grips fit? As long as they are the proper frame size. Holsters should be a dime a dozen too I would imagine.

I have not received the ServiceMaster yet.. I know the combat Master grip is 3/8" shorter than other compact 1911's. So I'm not sure if their other models have odd size grips or not. Its difficult finding exact specs on these guns so I'm trying to gather as much info as possible.
