I'd keep the 15-22. Cheaper to shoot seems like more done to it. Unless you really need a varmint gun I'd pass

yeah...i think thats what im leaning towards...dont really need a varmit gun, but i like to change things up sometimes. im having a hard time pinning down the value of the savage because there are several models that are practically identical. if the savage was worth more than the mp i would probably trade, but i dont know if i want to go through all the hassle and potentially have a less valuable gun.

If you want one of the most accurate guns on the planet, take the .17. That is one gun i will never sell. Mine (benched) will knock out the primers of 12ga shells at 100 yrds on the second shot, if not the first. ALL DAY.. Those guns are sick.

Re: need help: savage 17hmr for mp 15-22
I have two Savage 17HMR's and they are extremely accurate. They are more expensive to shoot than a 22 but once you shoot them, you may not want to ever go back to the 22.
As for the trade, no idea on value of either so I can't comment on that. I'd personally much rather have a standard stock or a thumbhole stock which are both available for the Savage than what is on that particular model. I don't even recall how much I paid for mine as they were both purchased at Cabelas during doorbuster sales and using points rather than cash so neither cost me anything. I'm thinking somewhere in the $250-$300 range to buy new with a scope.
