NHRPC 2012 MOGADISHU MILE
All,
I am pleased to announce that online registration for the 2012 Mogadishu Mile match is opened. The match is June 23rd with a rain date of June 24th. If we are going to the rain date, an email will be sent NLT noon on 6/22. It is your responsibility to check your email and provide correct contact information.
What is the Mogadishu Mile?
The "Moag" is an intermediate/advanced level rifle match with a significant degree of movement and physical activity. It is based on the 1993 battle of Mogadishu, a.k.a. "Operation Gothic Serpent." Competitors shoot one at a time and engage targets in several different challenging fashions, all on one clock. There are steel targets out to 200Y, reactive plastic targets, moving targets, and others that need to be shot on the move. The shooter moves forward between shooting challenges quickly and efficiently, and with the rifle in a safe condition and muzzle posture.
The match leads to you a blackhawk helo crash site (replica, mid-field) and getting on the helo's radio to say you've secured the crash site. Once there, keep your eyes open, because it will seem like the whole city will be coming at you. Put accurate fire down and hold that crash site.
After you finish "the Mogadishu Mile" you enter Pakistani stadium, to serve your tour in the pits. Five or so shooters later you are a short timer, and rotate out.
Maximum shot distance: 200Y
Round count: 80 rounds minimum, 150 recommended.
Gear Req: You need a method to carry your magazines securely. You need eye/ear protection and a chamber flag.
Scoring: Targets are neutralized or they are not. Each non-neutralized target adds 20 seconds of penalty time to your score.
Alibi: None. If your rifle becomes inoperable during the CoF you will have until the time-out to fix it on site, and safely. If you cannot, and have to leave the line, you are a DNF. You can wait until the afternoon for a re-shoot if possible. If we are still running shooters at 1500, there are no re-shoots conducted.
The difficulty level of this match is higher than usual, and the amount of information the shooter is expected to remember and process makes this match not a good fit for a novice shooter or a first time competitor. If you have not shot with us before, or have verifiable competitive experience to point to, we recommend that you NOT make this your first competitive endeavor. This is more like a championship match for regular competitive rifle shooters.
REGISTRATION:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...cW5QckdHUWc6MQ
If you register for this match, we expect you to show up. Late cancels within five days of the match will earn you the awful prize of being put on a pre-payment basis with the club via money order. This is a popular match and we don't want anyone who really wants to be there to be denied the opportunity.
Two major scoring classes:
Civilian (shoot the course plain)
Enlisted (shoot the course with an additional 20lb rucksack No other weight type may be substituted)
Minor scoring classes:
Irons
Optic (0-4x)
DMR (rifle either has a scope capable of greater than 4x magnification, or a removable bipod)
Bipods that are non-removable and manufactured on the rifle such as an RPK do not move the shooter to DMR.
We will recognize the top shooters in Major and Minor classes.
GENTLEMEN....... See you on the Moag.

Hey Freddy, it's Regent, can you change my scoring from "Civilian" to "Enlisted". Will the ruck be provided or do I have to pack a 20lb backpack?

Re: NHRPC 2012 MOGADISHU MILE
So with the emphasis on rucksack this year : "Enlisted (shoot the course with an additional 20lb rucksack No other weight type may be substituted)"
is a molle ruck frame with weights attached directly to frame acceptable as in pic:
Because I can't fit Catman in my pocket.

Re: NHRPC 2012 MOGADISHU MILE
You need to provide your own rucksack to shoot in the enlisted class. We have one we can make available but your own is preferred.
The type and nature of the weight is up to you. If we put the rucksack on the scale and it weighs 20# or over, you are G2G. It has to be a ruck that straps onto you. An athletic type weight vest is not accepted.
The ruck frame pictured with the weights on it would be accepted.
CoF diagram coming soon. ;-D
