    Default The Fruits of Hoarding

Just thought I’d share with all the “whiners” out there that I was able to introduce a young man to the wonderful world of firearms today, all due to the light hoarding of ammunition at good prices. If I had any less ammo I would not have felt comfortable enjoying it and letting a new shooter experience the thrill of rapid fire. That is all.

If you were not hoarding, the guy could have bought his own ammo.

I am not a hoarder, I have a stockpile but I just can't see how you think you did someone a favor by buying up ammo and then "allowing" it to go to someone that can't buy their own due to your own buying...

Nobody else sees the irony in that?

What about the new shooter that doesn't know you, where does he/she get their ammo since it is all piled up in your closet?

Stockpiling is an OK behavior IMO, Hoarding is a disease.

Hoarding is a general term for a behavior that leads people or animals to accumulate food or other items during periods of scarcity.
    Stockpiling:
a : a reserve supply of something essential accumulated within a country for use during a shortage
b : a gradually accumulated reserve of something
Continuing to buy up goods in a shortage is hoarding, pre-planning and stockpiling while supplies are plentiful is having good sense.

So are you really a hoarder with a disorder that cannot walk past a box of ammo on a shelf or a planner that thought ahead?

    The ammo police have arrived.

The "39Flathead ammo purchasing policy" has already been demonstrated in this thread (it starts to get good on page 3):
    http://forum.pafoa.org/general-2/211...t-problem.html

So instead of rehashing the old "hoarding" diatribe, why don't you just congratulate the OP for taking someone shooting?

    I'm more into hoarding fruits.

Oh, and to chillafusion: Excellent job in taking someone shooting (especially a new comer)!

    streaker69: that's a whole lotta fruit! excellent!

Not sure if this pic is around, but I'll post it for a true demonstration of hoarding:

I went to the grocery store and bought all the bread and milk in case it snows next year.
