Glock question
How much of a difference does the metal guide rod make? Contemplating purchasing one, want to know if it is a worth while upgrade.

Re: Glock question
Absolutely not worth purchasing unless you are someone who does handloading and wants to use different spring stengths for your custom tailored loads and get a steel guide rod with different strength springs. The factory is fine.

Re: Glock question
^^^^this.
Nothing needs to be changed on a Glock, except to add some night sights if it doesn't already have them. Now less Glock, more H&K :)

Re: Glock question
I have a Steel guide rod in my G21SF and G35 and noticed nothing different from the plastic one.
If you play the games, stick with the plastic so it doesn't change your division.
You might get the steel one because it might last longer than the stock one. But don't do it solely to help with recoil. I think the rod maybe combined with other things it helps, but just the rod change isn't enough. And majority of us won't even notice the difference..
For the glocks, I'd go with http://jagerproducts.comThe problem with shooting Chinese bullets is 15 minutes later you wanna shoot again.

Re: Glock question
Plastic guide rod is not a weakness, no need to replace it.
Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...

Re: Glock question
I have replaced the the guide rod in my 35 with a titanium rod and a stainless steel in my 23. In both cases it has made a difference. Also look at replacing the spring and trigger connector.

Re: Glock question
I think it's a piece of mind thing. Now I have noticed that in some of the 5k rounds torture test that the plastic guide rod is one of the things that breaks, but thats after 3k-4k round consistantly right after another. Who really shoots a handgun that long before you get to your rifle or shotgun?
It would be the last ungrade I'd make to a Glock. Even though i like the fact that early Beretta 92/96s had metal guide rods. Now days everybody going plastic GRs, except the 1911s.
