Weavers Firearms in Brodheadsville
I have to share perhaps the worst experience I've ever had.
A friend of mine recently decided to purchase his first firearm. Since he lived in the Brodheadsville area I found Weaver's Firearms and decided to take him down there to have a look. I walked through the door and was greeted by a guy who seemed to have a bit of an attitude. We weren't in the door a minute when I when the gentleman behind the counter started spewing his hypocritical BS all over the place. Any question my friend asked was met with a cruel comment. I found the store to have a poor selection. The owners/employees were rude and very pretentious. I have been around firearms for a long time and found this shop to represent exactly the type of personality/attitude that I do not want the general public to think of gun owners.
My friend was pretty annoyed and almost turned off when we left the shop. I talked him into trying one more store, American Sports Shooting, before I left. I must say the experience was much better. The owner/employee was very knowledgeable and didn't talk down to my friend or any of the firearms that he was looking at.

Re: Weavers Firearms in Brodheadsville
I tried to go to Weaver's once. It was a weekday, early afternoon, and they were closed. Peeked through the windows and the place looked like a dump. Never even bothered to look after that. If I'm making the drive to Brodheadsville, I'm going to American Sport Shooting, end of story, no reason to look any further.

Re: Weavers Firearms in Brodheadsville
Weaver's is closed on Mondays. I can't even go in there for more than 2-3 minutes because it's like walking into a cockroach fumigation tent or a trailer full of 60 year old bridge playing chain smokers. He is unfortunately the only one that carries a specific grain and caliber combination of Corbon that I like.
Just listening to his awful mouth magnify his even more awful personality is enough to keep me away as much as possible.

Re: Weavers Firearms in Brodheadsville
Can we organize a group guy. We can open the PAFOA gun store. I'm sure the collective knowledge of this site could manage the store, and we could drastically expand the classifieds section with a real store. Free transfers for PAFOA supporters?... just think of the possibilities.

Re: Weavers Firearms in Brodheadsville
There is also a posting of this same business for sale on bizbuysell.com
I say let it die. Trying to run a store through an online community is absurd and would not work. When I feel like losing money I usually go to a casino or double park.
Letting Weaver's die is the humane and American thing to do. Refuse to give your customers what they want, suffer the consequences.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!
