    hat you have is a black powder revolver made in Italy by F.lli Pietta. ( Pietta Family)
    I have owned 2 of their black powder revolvers and now own one of their excellent Single Action Army .45 Colt revolvers.
    You must supply more information, as they make many designs of BP revolvers, based on US Civil War-era revolvers.

    Basicly, if there is a top strap above the revolving cylinder, you have a Remington copy - if no top strap but a wedge holding the barrel assembly to the frame, you have a Colt copy. Some Pietta cap and ball revolvers can be found by going to ;

    www.midwayusa.com
    and searching for Pietta revolvers - maybe you will find one that matches yours.

    They are first rate shooters, and I recommend a copy of the Lyman Black Powder Handbook to find information on the care and use of black powder firearms.
    Enjoy it.

    Thank you for the info. I had searched the Internet but found very little on them. Also came in a Tower Flintlock in excellent condition. (real not reproduction). A little old lady had it as family heirloom and she went into a nursing home with no family left. I am pretty excited about this one.

    Charge for your .44 cal '58 Remington. A good target load is 12 gr. fffg topped with about 5cc of cornmeal or other inert material. Top that with a smear of SPG lube. Use #10 caps on a Remington. Colts and others take #11. I've found that swaged balls seem to work best. I like Speers.
