    Default Rossi .38 Questions

What can you guys tell me about this gun? I know it's a Rossi .38 revolver, but I can't seem to find or figure out the model, as I only see the snub ones on google when I look for it. It's my mom's but she's thinking about selling it to get a pistol instead. It was only actually fired once; she got it for home defense originally. It was bought in the early 90's I believe. I'd like to know the model and about what it would be worth if anyone knows that, and anything else any of you may know about it. Thanks in advance!

Open the crane/yoke, the model will be stamped in there. Its probably a model 68 with what looks to be about a 3" barrel +/-.

It has M88 and 432F stamped there. I'm guessing that's model 88, but it's odd; all the ones I can find online either have wooden grips and look older, or are 2 inch snub-noses.

Those Rossis are fine revolvers, does your mom really have to sell it? I would keep it. THe Resale value on them are really low anyway, just hate to see your mom give away such a beautiful little gun that has kept her safe all these years.

She has her reasons, and she said she'd feel more comfortable with a pistol, even if its something like a hi-point.

I would trust a baseball bat with a 8-penny nail in it before a Hi-point. They are fine range guns but for home defense I would never skimp. How much is she asking for it?
