Default my first first ar and i'm building it

    Hello All,
    The title says it all.
    my questions are,
Has anyone used a lrb lower, if so what did you think of it?
I have no doubt spikes and all the other 150. + lowers are good quality parts, but i just want a quality part at a fair price.

lrb states they hold tolerances to 1 thousandth of an inch. is that big in the armory world for the type of weapon? I couldn't find other companies stating there tolerances.

    Thanks for any replies.

Any suggestions are also welcome. as I said, first ar and first build

They have a good reputation with there M14 stuff, there is not a lot of difference in midrange lowers so if you want to try one of theirs I'd say give it a go.i have 4 ARs that I assembled from parts/pieces.One CMMG lower, one Charles Daly lower, and two Spike's lowers.Fit and finish is nearly identical on all 4.If I had access to an LRB lower I'd probably give it a try,if I decide to build anymore.Check AR-15.Com for reviews on LRB,I'd be suprised if there weren't any. Also there is a wealth of how to build information on their site.Good luck with your build.

I just built my first AR from a Palmetto State Armory stripped lower and rifle kit (flat top upper, 16" hammer forged, chrome lined barrel, mid-length gas system). Everything fit perfectly, and while I haven't shot it much, I'm completely satisfied so far.

Most lowers come from a fairly small number of actual manufacturers, and I haven't heard any thing that convinces me that one brand much better or worse than another. A blanket statement about tolerances, without stating how they're determined, doesn't mean much, either.
