loctite question
hey, i have a ruger 10/22 and it comes with a scope mount that attaches to the top of the reciever via 4 small screws[which i hear if over tightened will mess with the bolt action].
i had bought a scope and mounted it using the scope mount that came with the rifle.
everytime i go shooting, the 4 screws holding the picattany mount on come loose and make all the work into sighting in my scope worthless.
i heard loctite would fix the problem of the screws coming loose due to the recoil the only thing is, i dont want that picanny rail permanently mounted there. i plan to upgrade the stock to an archangle[ar15 style stock] and in order to do so, i will need to re-use the 4 screw wholes to mount the stock.
my friend said blue loctite is removable, red is permanent. but if i use the blue so that it is removable, will those screw holes be reusable? or will the loctite screw up the threads?
any other options? ideas? tips?
thanks in advanceAmerica is the finest country anyone ever stole.

Re: loctite question
Blue will do you what you need and it won't screw up the screws. You can clean the threads off with a wire brush if you need to afterwards. Just don't over do it with the locktite, only put a drop on the end of the screw, don't coat the entire screw with it.

Re: loctite question
The blue will work fine and not cause problems. All you need is a drop.
It's just thread lock. It's not glue.FUCK BIDEN

Re: loctite question
242 is what most refer to as Blue Loctite.
Here is a data sheet for reference:
http://www.type2.com/library/chemicals/loctite.htmThe 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

Re: loctite question
Blue loc-tite will NOT corrode, stretch, strip or otherwise damage steel (or any other metal) threads. Loc-tite that bitch!
Red and finally green loc-tite are "more permanent" but a heat gun will allow you to remove those as well.

Re: loctite question
If the screws are very small in diameter use the blue lightly. Smaller screws like 3-4mm should be used with purple loc-tite. I've never ruined threads with blue but stripped alot of heads with blue. Don't be afraid to heat up the blue when you remove it either. All the help the better.
On a side note purple is alot harder to find. Going to be much easier funding blue.www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.
