I'd have to look at my load data but if memory serves me I was loading 5 grain under a 230 lead RN and getting just over 1k fps out of a 5" S&W 1911. I am also using load data from the same year the powder was made. My is actual Royal Scot brand. It is by far my go to powder for 45 and 10mm.

Yes you can use the same data as cast or just a touch hotter. I use Berry's plated and have run them up to 1200fps without issue. Just go easy on the crimp with plated. You can cut the plating and destroy your accuracy real quick. Cut plating is probly not the best for your gun either.
RCBS CM is way too slow, my Hornady PM drops great, accurate loads with W231/HP38

1,000 fps is HOT and 1,200 fps???? In a 1911, I can hear the frame cracking from here. They are not made for that, ask me how I know.

Well im not talking about dropping Win 231 im talking about Solo. I think we covered the fact that 231/38 meters good.

Sorry let me clarify. The 1200 fps is/was general info for plated. I run those out of a Glock 29. I also run plated in other calibers but that's a mute point.

And 1k out of the 1911 runs just fine. If a 1911 chassis can't take 1k they wouldn't have chambered it in 10mm.

    I think you mean "moot."

Seen a few battered 10MMs that I wouldn't buy for half price.

1K outta a 1911 calls for some spring changes, IMHO.
