    Default 3rd gen g26 issue

Was at the range today while shooting G26 the mag kept dropping out. Checked that I wasnt touching mag release... I wasnt. Changed mags, same problem. Had 3 other shooters shoot, same problem. Any Glock experts with suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not a "Glock expert" by any stretch of the imagination, but if I had to guess, I'd say one of three things are happening (in descending order of likelihood):

    1) the spring in your magazine release needs to be replaced.

    2) there could be some debris in the mag release mechanism keeping it from engaging fully.

    3) the magazine catch (the thing that fits into the notch of your magazine) is worn and needs replacing -- which means replacing the magazine release itself, as they are opposite ends of the same piece of polymer.

#1 and #3 involve replacing parts that are just a couple of dollars apiece, so it doesn't sound like this is going to be expensive even if a gunsmith does the work.

fng19 pretty well covered it. mag release spring or mag release it,s self or possibly dirt in mag release channel. all the possibilities are inexpensive to address. check your mag just for the sake of it. make sure the mag has sharp edges where the mag release catches.just for a question you don,t have a gen 4 converted to lh use and using old style mags do you? if in doubt bring it to the oaks show this next weekend and i will check it out for you. red dog

mt as well go with the m34 type extended release and leave as is or shave a little off to your liking, the tad extra length really helps reaching it with your thumb
