Whoops! I won auction by accident..

Didn't think I would win when I bid, but by-gosh...I DID! When I saw a NIB Gen 3 Glock 17 at then current price of $415 with a few hrs left, I said "wth, no way it would go at that low a price" so I put my max bid of $426. Turns out, no one else came in after me with more appropriate bid and now I gotta buy it. Comes with (2) 17rnd mags and all the stuff Glocks normally come with in box.

So, to pacify the wife, I will unload a few guns not shot much like my Marlin 30AS in 30/30 and my Beretta 92FS. I put them in the classifieds for those interested.

About a year ago I bid something like $270.00 on a pristine Smith 915 one Sunday afternoon. I was watching TV that night when I hear *ding*, go check my mail and look-at-that, I won the thing.

It was stolen about six months later.

It was on gunbroker. I've owned a G17 and liked it then, but like everything else, sold and got something else. I also owned several G21's, but same thing. I wouldn't of bid if I didn't think it was worth it. I'll get another Beretta someday. They are a bit heavy for carry though.

Thanx. Yeah, I got a good deal on the Beretta when I bought it, so I thought I'd pay it forward to the next owner. It sold almost immediately.

Hmmm, I'd be careful with threads like these. This is almost like posting up firearms for sale, but not in the for sale section. Everybody and their dog could just post up in the general area "oh I'm going to sell this, look for it in the classifieds section." It just seems redundant, basically bordering on duplicate posts, and I'm guessing is probably pushing the limits. I understand wanting to tell the story about inadvertently winning an auction, but all the other advertising is pushing it. Just make sure you don't get an infraction.

Tough lesson to learn.
Do not place a bid unless you are ready to buy it.
I learned it the hard way.
